It is, in fact, the third time that WindEurope opts for the Bella Center Copenhagen and destination Copenhagen. The last congress held in the Danish capital was the EWEA Offshore 2015, and in 2012, WindEurope staged its EWEA Annual Conference 2012 at the Bella Center Copenhagen too.

Allan L. Agerholm, CEO of the Bella Center Copenhagen, part of BC Hospitality Group, said:

- This is great news and without doubt, the result of a close and targeted cooperation between many dedicated forces at the destination. We are delighted that Copenhagen and the Bella Center Copenhagen are able to welcome WindEurope back for the third time in just 5 years. Offshore Wind Energy 2019 will help highlight and strengthen Denmark's leading position within sustainability and wind power even further, and it underlines the strong appeal and professionalism of our particular congress venue, which just happens to be one of the most sustainable congress and exhibition centres in the world too.

Jan Hylleberg, CEO of the Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA), remarked:

- I am very pleased that WindEurope has pointed to Denmark as the host country for the Offshore Wind Energy 2019 congress, and my hopes are, that this can turn into a recurring event after 2019.

The Offshore Wind Energy 2019 congress was won by Bella Center Copenhagen, in partnership with Wonderful Copenhagen CVB and members of the local Meetingplace network, ahead of destinations such as Amsterdam and Bilbao.
